Car-modding companies

So as some of you may know (well at least friends who know me) I’m a real petrol head and the last 2 years I’ve been working on “upgrading & modding” my weekend fun car: Nissan 350Z.

It’s take a while with various problems, money issues, time issues, ill health and generally everything that could possibly go wrong, going wrong – in a nutshell I’m obviously not destine to finish this! lol

Anyway, my band of merry men from Superior Rides and myself have been working on the car – and I’m proud to say that very little has needed a “pro’s touch” – 98% of all the work is complete DIY.  Something which I feel true modding is all about.

But! as mentioned there has been a few companies involved – some with “build” elements or supplying parts, advice.  I’d like to thank all of these companies but also include their contact details here, to help others and provide recommendations (as well as a quick page for me to go to if I forget address details!).  So here goes:

AquaGraphix

  • Unit A5 Angel Lane Industrial Estate
    Aberbargoed, Mid Glamorgan, CF81 9FW
  • Email: sales@aquagraphix.co.uk
  • Telephone: 01443 836599
  • Notes: probably the best hydro dipping company around.  What these chaps don’t know about dipping isn’t worth knowing!  Moreso, their quality is top notch – in fact they are as anal about quality as I am!

Projex UK

  • Britannia Way, Clevedon,
    North Somerset, BS21 6QH
  • Email: sales@projexuk.com
  • Telephone: 01275 337800
  • Notes: Very helpful and quick turn around for sourcing the wheels I was so after!  Fair play the wheel selection they have is out of this world and they regular provide products to the top footballers and stars in the UK.  Great guys!

Fine Line Vehicle Upholstery

  •  Unit 10,Sycamore Close, Dyffryn Business Park
    Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed, CF82 7RJ
  • Telephone: 01443 815 203
  • Notes: Superb workmanship – really knows their stuff when it comes to car interiors and what does/doesn’t work.  The quality of my finished seats and roof lining is enough to make most people jealous.
However, my big moan – they did prove to be a nightmare with timescales – 2 weeks work turned into 3 months and a lot of chasing.  Pity as these guys are awesome.  If they can just resolve timescales then these would be in the same leagues of most of the other companies listed here.
